Box Score The John Carroll football team posted their first shutout of the 2015 campaign against Capital on Saturday. One of its players is receiving recognition for his part in the effort.
Senior linebacker
Andy Bryan recorded 13 tackles, which has earned him OAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. The senior helped lead the Blue Streaks to a 48-0 victory over the Crusaders.
The Blue Streaks defense, led by Bryan, held the offense of the Crusaders to 170 yards of total offense. The Capital offense ran wild for 530 yards the week before. Capital was held to only 2.6 yards per rush Saturday, less than half of what they have averaged this season thus far.
This is not Bryan's first time receiving OAC Player of the Week honors. Last season, Bryan received OAC Special Teams Player of the Week against Capital for playing a part in three blocked punts.
A John Carroll athlete has now held the weekly honor in all three facets of the game in 2015.
