The 2015-2016 season kicks off this weekend with JCU travelling to 5th ranked Ohio University for two games, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm in Bird Arena. This is the fifth season the two teams will meet for the opening weekend in Athens, OH. While OU has dominated the matchup, JCU's most recent success was splitting the weekend in 2013 with two solid performances, winning the opener in OT and losing the rematch in OT. Last season, the Streaks dropped the first game 1-5 and the second game 1-2, despite great performances in net by Matt Russell and Dusty Stevens.
 
JCU heads to Athens with a young squad, rostering 18 freshmen and sophomores for the season. The young Blue Streaks will look to improve each weekend and surprise the highly ranked Bobcats on the road. The Streaks will look to Kevin Vinyard (Junior), Tyler Potts (Senior) and Greg Makozy (Senior) for scoring and leadership up front and First Team CHMA Defenseman Spencer Keglovic (Sophomore) and Max Zweirlien (Sophomore) to anchor the D.
