Not only was John Carroll able to keep its perfect record intact on Saturday afternoon, but also rewrote pages in the history books.
Ryan Farragher scored 21 points and
Doug Caputo recorded a double-double as John Carroll routed Mount Union, 116-93, at the DeCarlo Varsity Center.
The 116 points is the most scored by the Blue Streaks in a game against Mount Union; the series dates back to 1932. .
In addition,
Danny Wallack broke the record for the most three-pointers in John Carroll history with 187; he surpassed the previous record of 185 held by Corey Shontz (2009-12).
John Carroll improves 15-0, 8-0 in the OAC. Mount Union falls to 11-4, 7-1 in the OAC.
Simon Kucharewicz scored 17 points, and Caputo had 14 points and 12 rebounds.
David Linane scored 11 and dished 13 assists, all with no turnovers.
J.J. Kukura was the top scorer for the Purple Raiders with 22 points and 7 rebounds. The Blue Streaks out rebounded the Purple Raiders 56-29, including 26-7 on the offensive glass.
Both teams came prepared to shoot; in the first three minutes of play, they combined for 17 points.
With 16:10 on the clock, the Blue Streaks trailed 10-9. They spent the following 2:16 on a 12-3 run and did not look back. The climax of the run came at 14:42 when
Simon Kucharewicz had a huge dunk which fired up the Blue Streaks bench.

Will Starks on the three-point line to put the finishing touches on their thrilling run to make the score 22-13 with 13:40 remaining in the opening half.
With 5:06 on the clock, Kucharewicz was found once again hanging from the rim, lighting up the DeCarlo Center.
John Carroll found themselves on an 8-3 run in the final minutes of the half. Kucharewicz came up big once again for the Blue Streaks with a buzzer-beater layup to make the score 52-38, marking the largest lead of the game.

Ryan Farragher both ended the first 20 minutes of play with 11 points. The Blue Streaks shot 50 percent in the first half. J.J. Kukura led the Purple Raiders with 12 points, while the team shot 48.5 percent.
The first four minutes of the second half were played evenly with Mount Union cutting into the lead slightly. John Carroll went on a 14-7 run increasing their lead to 21 points with 12:19 to go. After a jumper by Jarrett Ruffin with 10:20 on the clock, the Blue Streaks ripped off 10 consecutive points.
The Blue Streaks out scored the Purple Raiders 28-18 to take a 27 point lead with three minutes to play.
"To beat anyone in the OAC in awesome, but to come out and play like we did against a 7-0 team means a lot. We are out to set records and make a statement," said
Danny Wallack.
"If we shoot the ball well, we are a pretty good team. But today, we also did all the other things well," said Coach Mike Moran.
JCU extends its program record for wins to begin a season to 15. The nation's seventh-ranked team will travel to Berea on Wednesday, Jan. 20 to take on Baldwin Wallace at 7:30 p.m.
