Ohio Athletic Conference play is back and so is the John Carroll University offensive firepower.
Â
John Carroll made the Saturday, Oct. 1 trip to Wilmington College to open the 2016 OAC schedule. A three goal outburst and impenetrable defense from the Blue Streaks earn the visitors a 3-0 victory over Wilmington.

Â
The visiting Blue Streaks controlled must of the possession game during the opening minutes of the fixture, manufacturing several good scoring chances.
Â
John Carroll would eventually crack the scoring sheet in the 24th minute, via the scoring touch of
Justin Miller. The decisive touch from Miller was created by the assisting play of Jacob Lombardo.
Â
The 1-0 lead in the first half would be nursed into the half time break, thanks to a stellar performance from the John Carroll defense. As a team, John Carroll allowed just seven shots on goal the entire contest.
Â
Goalkeeper
Liam McIntosh kept a clean sheet in the fixture for his third shutout performance this season.
Â
Second half action for the Blue Streaks would supply the insurance needed to cement the conference opener winner.
Â
Miller would call his own number to give the Blue Streaks a two-goal edge. The second of Miller's goals on the night came courtesy of a nice set up play and assist from
Michael Melfi to give John Carroll a 2-0 advantage.
Â
With two goals on the night, Miller manufactures his fourth game with at least two goals in a match for his career. The most recent instance was when Miller scored two goals against Otterbein University during the 2015 season. This is the first multi-goal game for Miller this season.
Â
The dagger would come just two minutes later when
Champ Kozlowski powered home a goal for the Blue Streaks. The 53rd minute goal was the third of the night for John Carroll, cementing the 3-0 victory in the OAC opener.
Â
Kozlowski also etches his first collegiate goal in a John Carroll uniform with the tally.
