John Carroll may be taking a short break from classes for Easter, but the women's lacrosse team did not take an afternoon off.
The Blue Streaks were relentless on offense, defeating Adrian College on the road, 18-2, on Saturday.
Grace Curatolo scored five goals, and
Jillian Millard and
Brooke McQuinn each had a hat trick in the victory. Five other Blue Streaks (5-2) scored, including multi-goal games from
Meghan Harte,
Molly McCarthy and
Mary Jo Murino.
JCU scored ten goals in the first half and allowed both Adrian scores. The Blue Streaks outshot Adrian, 35-8, in the game, and put 25 shots on goal. The Blue Streaks forced 27 turnovers and held a 43-29 ground ball advantage.
The visitors scored the first two goals and allowed an Adrian score before ripping off five unanswered goals over 13 minutes. After Ava Cares scored with 7:05 left in the first, Adrian would not score again. JCU went on another 10-0 run to finish the game.
John Carroll is back in action on April 1 against Southwestern University at 6:00 p.m. at Shula Stadium.
