Don Shula Stadium has acted as the epitome of home field advantage for the Blue Streaks women's soccer team over the last two campaigns.  The Blue Streaks ended last season with a 5-2-3 record in their friendly confines, and this season, only had one loss in five tries. In fact, JCU had won four in a row in University Heights coming into tonight's match against Otterbein University.
Surely Shula Stadium would be friendly once again.
On this October night, however, no lead would be safe. A late surge led by Annie Mosca allowed the Cardinals to escape town with a 3-2 victory.

Otterbein got on the board first from a penalty kick goal in the 34th minute via Katie Exline for a 1-0 lead, but John Carroll responded soon after with a
Justina Fortson goal strike in the 37th off a rebound from a
Lexie Keller free kick.
Things looked bright just after the half for the Blue Streaks when Bailey Fisher converted her 11th goal on the season (tied for third in the OAC) by way of Fortson and
Taylor Newhart. The Blue Streaks had their first lead of the night at 2-1 at the 54:06 mark.

Otterbein's late surge was the difference, though, with a tying goal by Mosca assisted by Exline in the 73rd, and then Mosca returned the favor by delivered a dime to Isabel Sentile in the 87th to seal the deal for the Cardinals.

John Carroll has now dropped two straight for its first losing streak of the season following three consecutive wins.

Opportunities were abundant for the Blue Streaks with a 17-12 shot advantage, while Otterbein's advantage was in the corner kick department (14-5). Both Erin Gordon for Otterbein and
Rhianna Guarnera for the Blue Streaks (6 saves each) kept it close for their respective teams.

Otterbein is now 10-3-1 overall and 3-3 (6th) in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks slip to 7-5-2 overall and 3-2-1 (T-3rd) in league matches.
