In his first game as head coach,
Pete Moran guided the men's basketball to a 110-75 win over Fredonia on Friday night.
The Blue Streaks grabbed the momentum in the first half, with the three ball being their catalyst. As a team, John Carroll nailed nine shots from beyond the arc.
Jackson Sartain led the way with four, while
Matthew Csuhran and
John Cirillo followed with two apiece. Sartain also finished the half leading the team in points with 18.
John Carroll erupted for 60 first half points, allowing the Blue Streaks to roll into halftime with a 20-point lead.
JCU maintained its lead in the second half and never looked back. The Blue Streaks took the lead as high as 41 (104-63), before gliding into a 35-point victory.
Six Blue Streaks finished the game with double-digit scoring. Sartain lead the JCU squad with 27, while Csuhran recorded 16. Cirillo and
Antonio Vuyancih each tallied 13, with brothers
Jimmy Berger and
Ryan Berger tacked on 10 points.
John Carroll will next face the winner of the Hilbert/SUNY Poly matchup in the championship game tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
