John Carroll University (6-8, 0-4 OAC) hosted the sixth-ranked team in Division II on Friday night, falling to Notre Dame College (4-0) by a final score of 48-3.
Mason Litz became the first John Carroll wrestler to gain a lead with one point in the first period of the 197-pound match. Litz allowed one escape to Paul Ivy of NDC before a last second take down in the second period to go up 3-1. Litz took his lead into the third period and fought to keep it, ending the match 4-1 and putting JCU on the board.
NDC is currently ranked sixth in the nation for Division II and has seven wrestlers who are top-12 in their respective weight class.
The Blue Streaks will be back in action next Tuesday against OAC-rival Otterbein, in the season's final home dual.
