On their first weekend game of the season, the John Carroll women's soccer team notched their first victory of the season, defeating Albion 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
After the match, both teams now hold a 1-1 record on the season.
Bailey Fischer was the lone scorer of the entire match, scoring both of the John Carroll goals in the first half. Her first came when she found the back of the net in the fourteenth minute. Less than 10 minutes later, Fischer scored again the secure the 2-0 win for the Blue Streaks.
Jaclyn Audino was awarded with the assist.
Although John Carroll outshot Albion 4-2 in the first half, the Brits outscored the Blue Streaks 8-6 over the course of the match.
In goal, Rhianna Guarnera finished the match with four saves in addition to recording her first shutout of the season.
John Carroll will next travel to Wooster for an evening matchup against the Fighting Scots on Wednesday, September 6. The game is scheduled for 5 p.m.
