Box Score The JCU baseball team carried their ten-run performance against Case Western Reserve University from the day before into this afternoon's game against Westminster College, putting on an impressive 24 trips around the diamond on Wednesday.

The Blue Streaks' 24 run was the highest offensive showing for JCU this season, and the most runs scored in a game dating back to March 6, 2015.

With the win, JCU extended their win streak to three games and improved to 20-15 on the season, remaining .500 (8-8) in the OAC.

On the offensive end, the Blue Streaks had 11 players contribute to their 28 hits, with four hit contributions from junior Dominic Mittiga, freshman Christian Cassaro and sophomore Aaron Zawadzki. JCU also received a four RBI game from Mittiga, with three RBI games from both Keohane and freshman Sam Heaton.

Keohane sparked the scoring spree in the bottom of the first inning with a lead off home run, his eighth of the season. With the homer, Keohane improved his hit streak to 24 straight games.

JCU had every batter in the order make a plate appearance through the opening inning, as the Blue and Gold went onto score seven more runs in to establish an 8-0 lead.

Eight runs in the first inning was not enough for the Blue Streaks, as freshman Michael Anderson contributed to the scoring in the second inning with an RBI single. Cassaro followed Anderson's lead, with a double to left center to make the lead 11-0.

Westminster starting pitcher junior Dante Parente's day was concluded after two innings pitched, allowing no walks, six earned runs, and 11 hits.

Letting up was not in JCU's vocabulary. Junior Dominic Mittiga gave the Blue Streaks a 12-run lead in the third, with his one of his four RBI on the day, with a single to right center field.

The Blue and Gold received an impressive performance early on from their ace. Freshman pitcher John Merrill carried a shutout no-hitter into the fourth inning. However, it would not last long.

Westminster did not let the Blue Streaks' 12-run lead phase them, as the Titans countered with four runs on five hits in the top of the fourth inning.

The Blue Streaks matched the Titans' four run inning, with a four run inning of their own. Freshman Sam Heaton added the two final RBI of the fourth, with a triple off the wall in right center field. JCU led 16-4 after the fourth inning.

A sac fly by Westminster sophomore Frank Cinicola made the score 16-5, and one batter later, Merrill's day was over. The freshman pitcher finished the day compiling 5.1 innings, allowing seven hits, four earned runs, and striking out one batter.

JCU refused to let up on the offensive end, adding five additional runs on five hits in the bottom of the sixth making the lead 21-5,  which was their largest on the day.

The Blue Streaks added three runs in the three final innings, to earn the 24-9 win.

Junior Carter Semancik, freshman Kasey Anzelc and fellow freshman Nick D' Angelo finished out the pitching duties on the day for the Blue Streaks. The unit combined for a 3.2 inning performance allowing seven hits and four earned runs.

Defensively, JCU allowed three errors and stole five bases on the base paths.

The Blue Streaks will host the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets for their final OAC matchup of the season with a double-header on Friday, May 4 at Schweickert Field beginning at 1 p.m.
