There have been matches where offense has been a struggle this season for the John Carroll women's soccer.
Saturday was not one of those days.
John Carroll scored four first half goals and kept host Muskingum off the scoreboard to earn a 4-0 victory in its Ohio Athletic Conference opener staged this afternoon in New Concord, Ohio.
This was the Blue Streaks first OACÂ opening victory since a 1-0 win over Ohio Northern in 2014.
After a scoreless first 20 minutes, the floodgates opened up for JCU. In the 21st minute,
Sydney Scello tagged her second goal of the year off an assist from
Jaclyn Audino. Four minutes later,
Rachel Braunegg set up
Brittany Dufalla for the Blue Streak's second goal.
In the 32nd minute, Scello scored again with
Bailey Fischer assisting, and then Fischer scored her own goal in the 33rd minute.
Danielle DelGiudice did her part, making three saves for the shutout.
John Carroll won the shots battle, 33-8, including a 20-1 advantage in the opening half.
JCU is now 4-5-1 overall and 1-0 in the OAC. Muskingum falls to 5-5 and 0-1 in league play.
