Thus begins the second half of the John Carroll swim season.
After an extended training session in Florida for the past nine days, John Carroll started the second half strong with a 132-98 win over Gannon on Saturday afternoon at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Pool in Erie, Pennsylvania.
This was the Blue Streaks' first scored competition since the Wabash Invitational on November 18.

JCU shook off a loss in the opening 400 Medley Relay with a 1-2-3 sweep in the 1000 Free.
Hope Scherger led the way with a first place finish (11:27.51), followed by
Kyleah Gaydos (11:35.78) and
Paige Wnek (11:39.47).
The Blue Streaks then began to hit their stride midway through the meet. Wins by
Maddie Dolce in the 400 IM (4:53.02),
Jordyn Yarosh in 1-meter diving (165.10) and
Chloe Ruggiero in the 200 Fly (2:19.69) swung momentum in John Carroll's direction and put the Blue Streaks ahead, 72-52.
Gannon closed to within six points after wins in the 100 Free and 200 Back, but John Carroll all but slammed the door in the 500 Free. All-American
Gwyn Ledrick led a 1-2-3 sweep with her winning time of 5:21.21. Wnek (5:34.58) was second and Scherger (5:41.80) took third.
Yarosh came back to win the 3-meter diving event with 219.90 points.
After a break, Ledrick got back in the pool and teamed up with Ruggiero to claim the top two spots in the 200 Breast. Ledrcik touched first in 2:16.10, while Ruggiero was second in 2:33.55.
With their third consecutive dual meet win, John Carroll is now 3-1 on the year
