His opponent, Paul Santomarco bucked and flailed to no avail as Novak held on to preserve his precious riding time, giving the Blue Streaks a 12-6 lead.
After his match, Novak exhaustedly said "It felt good to turn it around and grab a win after being down 6-1 in the first." Novak also added, "I try to tune out the crowd in most cases, but I definitely think that the cheering helped me."Â

The John Carroll Wrestling team had outstanding effort during this long and difficult day at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. Individually and team-wise they proved that they are capable of winning against tough competition.
Assistant coach
Chad Rhoades echoed this in his comments, "We feel good, not great. We purposefully designed the duals to push our guys. They responded well, six dual matches is a hard thing for teams to handle in one day." Rhoades continued, "We driven our guys pretty tough, so it's good to be able to have a break for them to recover and we'll be refreshed for Muskingum after the break."
The Blue Streaks travel to Muskingum University for their next match on December 3rd at 7:00 pm.Â
