Goal In 88th Minute By Top-Seeded Ohio Northern Ends Tournament Run for John Carroll Women's Soccer

John Carroll went down to the wire with Ohio Northern in regulation Thursday afternoon, but in the end, the wire would come to an abrupt end.

Jenna Fuller of the Polar Bears scored in the 88th minute to break a scoreless tie, allowing the top seeded hosts to escape with a 1-0 victory in the semifinal round of the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament held in Ada, Ohio.

The Blue Streaks end their season with a record of 10-7-3, while Ohio Northern will advance to the championship game and await the winner between two-seed Capital and three-seed Otterbein. The title match will take place on Saturday, November 9.

The match began evenly, but as time progressed, the Polar Bears pressure became more intense. ONU outshot the Blue Streaks 17-3, including 9-1 in the second half.

Still, Danielle DelGiudice made four saves before Fuller scored the game winner.

Ohio Northern, ranked #17, also won the corners battle, 9-1.
