Men's Tennis Battles Hard Before Falling To Nationally Ranked Oberlin

The John Carroll men's tennis team had just finished a rough spring break trip facing Division II and NAIA teams based in Florida.

The reward was playing a nationally ranked Division III team upon returning to Ohio.

JCU fell today by an 8-1 score to host Oberlin Saturday afternoon.

In doubles play, Gustavo Garcia and Andrew Triner outlasted Zachary Vaughn and Matthew Gittings, 8-5. Andy Siciliano and David Sinense took on Oberlin's top ranked team at #1 doubles and fell by an 8-4 score.

In singles play, the Yeomen pulled off the clean sweep. Triner was the only Blue Streak to extend his match to a third set tiebreak, but lost to James Dill, 4-6, 6-1, 1-0.

JCU is now 0-7 on the year.
