Rini Ties Doubles Record As Part Of Whitewash Win Over The Berg

Madisyn Rini tied a program record for career victories in doubles as part of a 9-0 blanking of Heidelberg Wednesday at the Ursuline College courts in pepper Pike, Ohio.

Rini and her partner Lauren O'Malley won by an 8-0 count in the #1 doubles match as the Blue Streaks did not drop a single game in any of the seven contested matches. The Blue Streaks also picked up two forfeit wins.

In her doubles triumph today, Rini matches the mark set by Lauren Castagnero, who won 68 times in doubles play from 2002-2006.

JCU had not played in ten days, but showed little rust. In addition to the Rini and O'Malley win, Skye Harwood and Megan Reese also won 8-0 at #2 doubles.

O'Malley (#1), Rini (#2), Reese (#3), Ellie Cole (#4) and Emily Day (#5) picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins in singles play.

JCU is now 12-5 overall and 7-0 in league play.
