John Carroll won its 30th consecutive Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet Wednesday afternoon with a 9-0 shutout of Baldwin Wallace, marking the third consecutive 9-0 win for the Blue Streaks to open their league schedule.
The tone was set in the doubles competition at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts in Berea.Â
Madisyn Rini and
Lauren O'Malley defeated Ashtyn Morris and Jayde Robinson, 8-0, in the #1 match, whileÂ
Skye Harwood and
Megan Reese were virtually as dominant in an 8-1 win over Imani Robinson and Kathleen Moser at #2 doubles.
Alyssa Krupp and
Carlye Campagna completed the doubles sweep with an 8-3 win in the #3 match.
The domination continued in singles play. O'Malley won her 99th career singles match with a 6-2 6-2 victory over Jayde Robinson. Rini battled for a 6-4 6-3 triumph over Morris at #2 singles.Â
Campagna was a 6-3 6-1 winner at #5 singles, while Reese (#3), Krupp (#4) and Harwood (#6) all won 6-0 6-0.
JCU is now 8-3 overall and 3-0 in league play.
