Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Retooled JCU Men's Tennis Line-Up Unable To Construct A Win Over Earlham

Taking the top player out of the line-up meant a reshuffling of the deck for the John Carroll men's tennis team.

Without #1 singles and doubles player David Sinense, everyone had to slide up a notch in singles play and one doubles team was paired up for the first time.

The result was a 9-0 loss to Earlham College Sunday in a match staged at Denison University in Granville, Ohio.

The newly minted #1 doubles duo of Andy Siciliano and Doug Moore lost 8-4, while the Blue Streaks suffered closer losses at #2 doubles (Gustavo Garcia/Andrew Triner, 8-5) and #3 doubles (Adi Jha/Parker Holyn, 8-6).

In singles play, JCU lost five of six matches in straight sets. Only Triner extended his match to a third set tiebreaker, only to fall 10-3 to Nicola Manni.

Earlham improves to 10-7 while John Carroll falls to 2-9.
