Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Busy Week In Florida For John Carroll Women's Tennis Produces Winning Record

John Carroll was busy in Florida last week.

Seven matches in four days, including one against a Division I team, a Division II team and another against an NAIA power.

In spite of all the matches in a short amount of time, the Blue Streaks emerged with a winning record. JCU finished its seven matches with a 4-3 record.

Among the Blue Streaks victories were a 6-3 triumph over Oglethorpe out of Georgia, and 9-0 wins over Muhlenberg, Houghton and Ohio Athletic Conference rival Muskingum. The losses were a 1-6 decision against Sacred Heart (Division I), a 5-2 setback against Seton Hill (Division II) and a 4-0 loss to Ave Maria (NAIA).

Head coach Shaun Keenan got some great efforts across the board. Alyssa Krupp led the way with four wins (4-3 record overall), and Ellie Cole was 3-0 at #6 singles.

Also winning three matches in singles play were Skye Harwood, Katie Mattimoe, Megan Reese, Anna Vitale (3-0) and Jaclyn Voss (3-0)

In doubles play, Krupp was 5-2 playing with Mattimoe and Emily Day.

Day was also highly successful when playing with Roslyn Ng, posting a 3-1 mark.

Cole and Ng were 3-0 when called upon this week.

John Carroll is now 5-6 on the year.
