The Blue Streaks opened up the meet with a strong start in the 200 Medley Relay.

Liam McDonnell, Austin Davis, Forrest Campbell, and Michael Heller combined for first place finish to kick off the day. The quartet combined for a winning time of 1:34.62. JCU's "B" relay also swam well, as Jonathan Simoes, Nick Mudry, Bryce Liddell, and Westin Fishel clocked in at 1:38.70 for second-place effort.

John Carroll snagged a 1-2-3 finish in the 1000 Free to follow it up. Erik Sribuas touched the wall with a dominant victory, a full 13 seconds ahead of the competition with a time of 10:13.98. Aidan Hulseman snatched second, with a mark of 10:37.77. Ben Rancilio completed the sweep with a time of 10:43.69. Andrew Chiapetta also looked good with a fourth-place finish of 10:44.35.

The Blue Streaks didn't relent in the 200 Free, with a 1-2 conquest. Liam McDonnell bested the field with a winning time of 1:44.92. Aidan O'Neill finished closely behind with a mark of 1:47.18.

"We have the Kenyon Invite coming up in about two weeks. We may enter Liam in the 200 Free in that event, so I wanted to get him the chance to swim it prior to that," said Barton. "His 100 Fly was great, too. His underwaters were as strong as I remember from last year's OACs. There are things we can finetune prior to the championship meet, but he was in the zone."

A rare 1-2-3-4 victory followed in the 100 Back. River Flatley triumphed with a time of 54.02, with Simoes nipping at his heels with a time of 54.73. Luke Novak struck bronze with a time of 55.26 and Jacob Clark clocked in with a 56.26.

Adam Lenz showed his veteran smarts in the 100 Breast next. The senior stood in second after the first 50 before finishing things off with a 31.47 split for a final time of 1:00.25, conquering the field. Austin Davis took silver with a mark of 1:00.75. Hulseman earned fifth as well with a time of 1:08.62.

The 200 Fly followed with yet another JCU victory. This time, the Blue Streaks took 1-3. Sribuas overtook an upstart Purple Raider who claimed an early lead. The JCU senior revved up his engines late, with a final split of 30.87, two seconds better than any other swimmer. Sribuas' conquest came with a final time of 2:00.06. Ben Rancilio followed with a strong third-place finish of 2:03.21.

In the final event before the 1 Meter diving, the Blue & Gold continued firing on all cylinders. Forrest Campbell took care of business in the 50 Free with a winning time of 21.40. Adam Lenz also posted a strong time of 21.48, with Michael Heller completing the sweep with a time of 22.01.

Christian Litwinowicz repped JCU on the diving side of things, with a final score of 149.55 for fourth.

Out of the diving break, John Carroll won the 100 Free. Campbell clipped a winning time of 47.82, while Heller followed with a third-place time of 49.33. Another 1-3 finish occurred in the 200 Back, as Simoes smoked the competition with a mark of 1:57.92. Luke Novak clocked in at 2:02.86 for third.

In the 200 Breast, the momentum continued for the Blue Streaks, this time with a complete sweep. Lenz outdueled his competitors again, with a first-place time of 2:14.26. Davis followed with a time of 2:16.56, and Mudry scored a time of 2:20.64.

The 500 Free saw yet another win for the Blue Streaks. Sriubas did the honors, penciling in a time of 4:58.25. O'Neill scored a time of 5:00.41 for the second-place effort.

John Carroll picked up another win to head into the second diving break. McDonnell touched the wall at 50.28 for the victory, while Bryce Liddell made an appearance with a third-place time of 54.40.

Christian Litwinowicz finished third in the 3 Meter diving, with 175.90 points. Mount Union gained a bit of ground, but nowhere near enough to spook the Blue Streaks heading into the final two events.

Austin Davis corralled a major win in the 200 IM, with a margin of victory over 5 seconds, with a time of 1:56.93. Simoes followed in third with a time of 2:02.93.

"Austin's 200 IM was huge," said Barton. "We wanted him to go under 2 minutes and he went 1:56. That's great considering at the end of the meet when he's tired and lactic acid has been sitting in his muscles. I'm excited to see what he can go when he's suited up and rested.

The Blue Streaks completed the victory in the 200 Free Relay. Campbell, McDonnell, Lenz, and Heller worked together for a time of 1:26.24, a winning time. JCU also took third, as Liddell, O'Neill, Flatley, Westin Fishel combined for a time of 1:29.41.

With the win, JCU advances to 1-1 on the year. Next up is the Kenyon Invitational in a couple weeks.
