YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- In the final competition of the semester before exams begin, John Carroll University Men's Track & Field took part in the Youngstown State Holiday Classic on Friday.Â
Garrett Clark continued his red-hot start to the indoor season. After thriving last week, he did almost as well this week, tabbing a 22.08 for third place in the 200m. Cameron Klauke finished behind him with a 23.46.Â
Mark Zahren took part in the 400m, snagging fourth with a time of 50.56. Mick Doyle followed in sixth at 51.16 and Klauke checked in at 52.05.Â
Jimmy Kartsonas killed it for the second straight week. The Pittsburgher leaped to 13.75m in the triple jump, good enough for fourth in the event. Corey Minton also competed, with a hop of 12.99m, as did Anton Peregoncev (11.75m).Â
Continuing with the field events, Zach Szafarski marked down a 14.56m in the shot put. Matthew Russo logged a 12.92m. Russo led the way for the Blue & Gold in the weight throw with a mark of 13.44m.Â
