Wins by Correia, Ward, and Ernest Characterize Good Day for Men's Track & Field

| By:
WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- With the team separated into two locations of Otterbein University and Capital University, the Blue Streaks were set up for individual highlights at Sunday's Ohio Athletic Conference Elite Meet.

Possibly the most promising thing to come out of today was Deven Ward getting back to his winning ways with a victory in the 60m dash. Ward broke seven seconds for the first time this season with a 6.96 second mark in the finals. After two weeks without a win in an event he has shined in for three years, Ward looked to be back to last year's form with a time just .05 seconds shy of Hayden Snow's school record.

Gabe Ernest notched his first win of the season, earning first in the 1000m, clocking in at 2:35.13 for the Blue Streaks.

Caleb Correia won his third event of his young career, with a new PR in the 800m with a mark of 1:55.28. He's a shining star to watch as the season progresses. Pat White followed right behind him with a third place finish in the race as well.
Jamie Dailey had a strong second place finish in the 3000m with a time of 8:30.12, with Jared Arnold behind him in third (8:44.56).

The team also had a strong performance in the mile. Sam Coe (4:29.14) and Jake Darby (4:31.38) finished third and fourth respectively. Bobby Foggle also returned after two weeks of not competing to place fourth in the 400m.

In the field events, James Kartsonas and Willis Goodwin finished second and third in the triple jump. Goodwin added a second place finish in the long jump. Zach Szafarski continues to set the bar for the Blue Streaks in the throws, coming in third in the shot put with a new PR of 14.77 meters.
