Youth and Veteran Talent on Display at Last Chance Meet for Men's Track & Field

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- John Carroll University's Men's Track and Field team compiled eight victories today at their meet at the University of Mount Union. All four classes, freshmen through seniors, had a victory today.
    
Junior Garrett Clark accounted for two of those wins today. He won his first long jump competition for the Blue Streaks, and also won the 200m dash with a new PR. Deven Ward followed Clark with a second place finish in the 200m, and Jimmy Kartsonas was the next Blue Streak in the long jump, finishing fourth. 
    
Fellow junior Ian Pierson won the 800m, and Gabe Ernest was right behind him in second place. Another junior in Sam Coe won the 1000m, beating John Shoemaker by just two seconds. 

Sophomore Alex Phillip won the 3000m, followed by freshman Matt Costanzo in second, and Keller Dittoe in third. Fellow sophomore Zach Szafarski won the shot put with a 14.07 meter mark, and placed third in the weight throw. Joe McNulty also placed third in the shot put.  

Senior Jamie Dailey won the mile today as well in impressive fashion. Pat White was right behind him, getting outlasted by .22 seconds. Jared Arnold also had a podium finish in third. Freshman Caleb Correia won his second 500m race of the year.  
    
Deven Ward had a strong showing, placing second in the 200m dash, while junior Willis Goodwin placed third in the triple jump. Cam Klauke also placed third in the 60m dash. 
    
The Blue Streaks stacked together 26 new PRs with their eight event victories and eleven top three finishes.
