IRVING, Texas -- Senior wide receiver Devin Limerick is being honored for his stellar academic performance during his time playing for the John Carroll University Football team.

The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame named Limerick to their 2022 NFF Hampshire Honors Society. Players from all divisions of the NCAA, NAIA, and sprint football are eligible for this prestigious award, provided they maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher across their academic career.

Limerick is one of only 1,559 players from across the country to be invited to the Honors Society.

On the field, Limerick scored 15 touchdowns in his time with the Blue and Gold. As a running back in his freshman and sophomore years, he ran for 685 yards. Limerick also caught for 627 yards over his four-year career with the Blue Streaks. As a kick returner, he scored a touchdown and ran for 570 yards on 20 returns.

For his efforts on the field, Limerick received an All-OAC Honorable Mention in Spring 2021 and the Fall 2021.

Limerick's career was equally impressive off the field. Limerick earned Academic All-OAC status in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Limerick was also named the 2021 OAC November Scholar-Athlete of the Month.

Limerick made an impact on the JCU community as well. In September 2020, he co-founded the Physical Therapy Club on campus.

Upon graduation, Limerick will be attending New York University to earn his doctorate in physical therapy.
