Wrestling Defeats Muskingum, But Scuffles Against Ranked BW, ONU Squads

Andrew Perelka was the lone bright spot for JCU.
ADA, Ohio -- John Carroll Wrestling competed at the OAC Quad today, a dual meet with four Ohio Athletic Conference schools, with Ohio Northern University serving as the host.  

The Blue Streaks faced off against Muskingum University, #5 ranked Baldwin Wallace, and #16 ranked Ohio Northern University.  

Andrew Perelka (133 pounds) had a notable performance today, earning one fall and two decisions and being the sole John Carroll wrestler to end 3-0 on the day. 

JCU won its first dual against Muskingum University, 47-9. Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.), Caiden Rodgers (184 lbs.), and Thomas Blackwell (285 lbs.) all got pins (0:24, 4:44, 2:54), while Eddie Wallace (125 lbs.) earned a technical fall (19-3 2:55).

The Blue Streaks' second dual was against Baldwin Wallace, where they lost 40-6. Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.) and Stefan Farian (184 lbs.) were the sole victors from JCU, both winning by decision (6-4 & 3-1).

JCU lost their third dual against Ohio Northern University 37-13. Andrew Perelka (133 lbs.) earned a decision (4-0) and Patrick McGraw scored a major decision (18-4)

John Carroll Wrestling will compete next Friday and Saturday, January 27-28, at the Pete Wilson Invitational hosted by Wheaton College.
