STANFORD, Ca. -- While most folks in Northeast Ohio were cozy in bed following a gloomy Friday, Alex Phillip was quite busy.

The senior set yet another record on the West Coast on Friday night.

Running in the 5000m at the Stanford Invitational, Alex Phillip continued his pursuit of history. Phillip shattered another NCAA Division III record.

The St. Vincent-St. Mary alum recorded a time of 13:47.41 in the 5k late Friday night. The previous best mark was 13:51.49 held by Dhruvil Patel of North Central. Phillip accomplished the feat in a packed field filled largely with Division I runners.

Phillip continues to add to his resume of NCAA records. During indoor season, Phillip shattered both the 3000m and 5000m indoor records. So, that makes three records broken by Phillip in this season alone.

The Akron native surely isn't done, as Phillip is in search of more success down the stretch in his final season wearing the Blue & Gold.
