In the final weekend before the Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, John Carroll Men's Track & Field prepped for the big show.

The Blue Streaks competed at the Walsh Invitational on Thursday and then at the Penn Relays on Friday.

Across the board, it was a solid weekend for the Blue Streaks.

In the field events at Walsh Tune-Up, the Blue Streaks tallied three finishers in the top 10 in the long jump. Corey Minton led the brigade with a hop of 6.42m. Jimmy Kartsonas was right behind him, logging a jump of 6.25m. Daylen Glaze rounded out the squad with a mark of 5.78m. Noah Schroeder also made noise with a ninth-place finish in the hammer throw with a tally of 52.09m.

The Blue Streaks were well-represented in the 1500m. Joe Backus led the contingent, clocking in at 3:57.39 for sixth. Max Grillo joined him in the top 10 with a time of 4:00.10. Dominic Delmoro finished 11th in 4:03.09. Also in the mid-distance, Michael Hvizdos tallied a 13th place mark of 1:57.06.

In the sprints, Cam Klauke provided a highlight of the day with a conquest in the 400m. The Rochester, Michigan native earned a time of 49.69 to beat the field. In the 100m, Brody Hanlon and Michael Jones tallied 11.55 and 11.77 for 22nd and 25th.

In the 200m, Kartsonas collected another strong time, rocking with a time of 22.26 for fifth. And in the 400m hurdles, Victor Ononogbo didn't just finish third, but the sophomore also set a PR with a time of 57.45.

And then on Friday evening, the Blue Streaks made some noise at the Penn Relays.

Garrett Clark, Caleb Correia, Basheer Alramahi, and Tyler Gast combined for a time of 3:17.38, a season best time for the Blue Streaks. The JCU quartet notched a third-place finish amongst top competition (and beat out several Division I squads).

Now with these meets complete, all that is ahead of the Blue Streaks is the postseason, starting with the OAC Championships.
