ALLIANCE, Ohio – On Thursday and Friday, John Carroll Men's Track & Field competed at the John Homon Invite at Mount Union.

The Blue Streaks enjoyed some nice PRs and wins to sail into Easter Break with good momentum.

Noah Schroeder steered the JCU trio in the hammer throw on Thursday to kick things off. The junior from Mentor thrived to the tune of a throw of 50.90m for second, just an inch shy of tying his PR. Matthew Russo (43.39m, 6th) and Alec Gorman (35.52m, 10th) also repped JCU.

Also on Thursday, Tyler Gast roared for a throw of 45.51m in the javelin for third. Gorman also hit top 10 with a tally of 34.05m. The fun continued in the field events on Friday, as Corey Minton minted a silver finish in the triple jump with a mark of 13.75m. Russo also tabbed eighth in the shot put with a tally of 12.52m.

In the sprints, Jimmy Kartsonas provided a nice highlight with a first-place time of 10.89 in the 100m, also an outdoor best. Mick Doyle, Kartsonas, Garrett Clark, and Dustin Horner formed the JCU quartet in the 4x100, clocking in at 41.38 for second.

Adam Shah took to the track today for the first time since the OAC Outdoor Championships last May. His return was a good one, as the senior snagged a second-place time of 9:41.78 in the 3000m Steeplechase, a PR by a wide margin. Gerhardt also took part, recording a time of 10:11.67 for sixth.

A major highlight of the day was the 5000m. Ethan Domitrovich looked good with a time of 14:38.59, a new PR for the McDonald, Ohio native. Jack Root (15:29.43, 3rd) and Tommy Naiman (15:59.69, 7th) also repped JCU.

The Blue Streaks secured a win to close out the day in the 4x400. Gast, Doyle, Clark, and Horner conquered the competition with a time of 3:21.59.
