Campus will be electric with all kinds of festivities this weekend

Happy Homecoming Weekend, Blue Streaks! Here is your weekend preview.

A variety of events fill this weekend's calendar, spelling out an exciting weekend.

Hall of Fame Dinner and Dedication

John Carroll welcomes 6 new star athletes, Hal Hawk '81, and the 1968-69 Men's Golf Team to the Hall of Fame this weekend. A dinner Friday night will celebrate this new class of incredible athletes before a dedication held in the new Hall of Fame corridor will take place at 10:30 am Saturday morning to christen the new hallway in honor of Dave Rastoka '90.

Golf & Wrestling Rooms Dedications

On Friday at 4:30 pm, the newly renovated golf room will be dedicated as the Deborah Lynn Solyan '83 Golf Performance Center in the former wrestling room. The beautiful new space will be the indoor home of John Carroll Men's and Women's Golf.

On Saturday morning at 10 am, the new wrestling room is present in the lower level of the new AWE Center, set to be christened in honor of Donald Korb.

Football

The Blue Streaks return to Don Shula Stadium after extending their 5-game winning streak with an electric 31-27 win over the #11/9 DePauw University Tigers last weekend.

On Saturday, JCU faces the College of Wooster at 1:05 pm. With a current home record of 2-0, a win this weekend would keep the team undefeated at home.

The game will be broadcasted live on Rock Entertainment Sports Network.

Soccer

Blue Streak Soccer is looking forward to an exciting Saturday, a game at home and a game on the road.

JCU Men's Soccer will be traveling to Crawfordsville, Indiana to face NCAC opponent Wabash College at 1 pm. Coming off of a strong 3-1 win this past Wednesday, the Blue Streaks strive to keep the momentum going as they round out their season.

JCU Women's Soccer will remain at home to play NCAC rival Ohio Wesleyan University. After a loss earlier this week, the Blue Streaks seek to return home strong with a match at 6:05 pm.

The women's game will be broadcast live on Cleveland's 43.

Club Hockey

The JCU Club Hockey hosts Mercyhurst University at Gilmour Academy at 8:10 pm on Friday and travels to face Duquesne University on Saturday at 9:20 pm.

Swimming and Diving

John Carroll Swimming and Diving is excited to welcome back Men's and Women's alumni back to the Johnson Natatorium this weekend for an Alumni Meet.

The Blue Streaks will dive in at 10 am.
