Men's Wrestling Starts Season at Mount Union Invitational

Kyle Bizjak (pictured) and Wills Bronson both finished in second place

ALLIANCE – The 2025-26 campaign began on Saturday for John Carroll Men's Wrestling.

The Blue Streaks compiled an eighth place finish out of 14 teams at the Mount Union Invitational.

The stars of the show were Kyle Bizjak and Wills Bronson both securing second place efforts.

The 149 and 157 brackets were filled with talent, so those two brackets were split. Bizjak nabbed second place in the 149 A bracket, winning three matches before losing a 4-0 decision in the championship bout. Will Allen placed eighth in the 149 B bracket. In the 157 B bracket, Christian Friel notched second.

Bronson shined at 184, notching three pin wins before losing by fall in the championship battle.

The 197 bracket was a busy one for the Blue Streaks. Bear Horgan tallied fourth, while Juuso Young snagged seventh.

Finally at 165, Aiden Burns carded seventh place with three wins en route.

The Blue Streaks will be headed to Heidelberg University on Wednesday for the first dual action of the year.
