The Mentor High School alum fired up a 15-5 win over Gannon's Gaetano Savelli in the round of 16. A hard-earned 3-0 quarterfinal victory sent him into the semifinals. His winning streak ran out there with a 6-1 defeat to Aiden Gassel of host CWRU.

But Horgan finished the day strong with a dominant 21-6 tech fall in 5:43, allowing the junior to wrap up third place.

Meanwhile in the freshmen and sophomore division, fellow 197 pounder Frank Gallo also had a great day. The Brecksville native picked up a nice 3-0 victory in the semifinal before losing a 16-1 defeat in the finals.
