Women's Swimming & Diving Falls to BSGU and Findlay

The Blue Streaks headed to Bowling Green for a pair of duals

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – A trip to the home of an old friend marked the Saturday after finals for John Carroll Women's Swimming & Diving.

The Blue Streaks traveled to Bowling Green State University for a dual against the Division I Falcons as well as nearby University of Findlay, a talented Division II program.

John Carroll lost to BGSU, led by former JCU head coach Tanner Barton by a score of 205-70 and dropped to Findlay by a score of 163-96.

Results

Mairin Dalziel enjoyed a nice meet for JCU. In a fast 50 Free, the JCU star touched the wall in 25.12 In the 200 IM, the veteran picked up a second-place finish with a mark of 2:12.82.

Ella Muzychak finished third in the marathon 1000 Free for JCU. Later on, the star swam a time of 5:25.89 for second in the 500 Free.

Audrey Sevald tallied a time of 1:00.65 for third in the 100 Backstroke. Later in the 200 Back, she clocked in at 2:13.34, also a bronze finish. 

Olivia Goodman grabbed fourth in the 200 Breaststroke for JCU, followed quickly by Kami Contakis. 

To cap the day, JCU took third in the 200 Free Relay. Bree Shirkey, JJ Gowetski, Taylor Hudson, and Dalziel combined for a mark of 1:42.26.

The Blue Streaks have some time off now before heading to Florida for the annual training trip.
