Kyle Bizjak, Alex Crane, and Jesse Kanatzar Earn NWCA Scholar All-American Honors

The JCU trio excelled in the classroom and on the mats

MANHEIM, Pa. –  A trio of John Carroll Men's Wrestling student-athletes have garnered honors for excellence in the classroom and on the mat.

Kyle Bizjak, Alex Crane, and Jesse Kanatzar have been named NWCA Scholar-All-Americans. 

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the 2025 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-American Awards recipients on Friday. 

Honorees must either place in the top eight at Regionals or wrestle in 15 matches with a winning percentage of 66% or better. In the classroom, the recipients must have a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better. 

Kyle Bizjak enjoyed a strong sophomore season. The Aurora native secured a 21-12 record for the season. Bizjak notched a seventh-place finish at the NCAA Regionals. He earned Academic All-OAC honors as a Computer Science major. 

Alex Crane started his career off well this season. The first year finished with a 19-8 record. The future is bright indeed for the Thornville, Ohio native and Nursing major. 

Jesse Kanatzar completed his John Carroll career with a strong senior campaign. The Tallmadge native compiled a 24-12 record for the year. The Sports Studies major secured his 100th career victory in a dramatic Senior Day win over Wilmington. In his final action of the season, Kantazar snagged seventh place at Regionals.
