Men's Tennis Defeated by #10 Washington University in St. Louis

STOW, Ohio – John Carroll Men's Tennis drew a stout non-conference test on Friday.

Moved indoors due to rain, the Blue Streaks headed indoors to the LaTuchie Tennis Center in Stow. The challengers? The No. 10 team in NCAA Division III.

Washington University in St. Louis certainly played like a top ten team in the country, handing the Blue Streaks a 7-0 defeat. 

Anthony Markello and Dylan Westmeyer got on the board at #1 doubles, but experienced a 6-2 defeat. Luis Wentz and Griffin Millspaugh fought a similar battle at #2 in a 6-2 loss. Phillip Gorun and Jack Sigler managed to score as well in a 6-1 defeat at #3. 

Markello lost a battle at the top of the lineup, 0-6, 0-2. Westmeyer recovered from a set one loss to make it a battle in the second set, but still lost, 4-6. Gorun got on the board in both sets, but still was setback, 1-6, 1-6. Wentz also managed to get a tally on the scoreboard in both sets, but was overrun at #5, 1-6, 2-6.

The Blue Streaks have added a road match on Sunday, April 6, heading to Daemen University in New York.
