With Easy Win over Capital, Women's Tennis Starts OAC Play Impressively

The Blue Streaks notched their fourth straight victory

LEXINGTON, Ohio – The final run-through of Ohio Athletic Conference play began on a nice note for John Carroll Women's Tennis.

On Saturday, the Blue Streaks made a trek to face Capital University indoors at the Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, Ohio.

The hour-and-a-half journey didn't bother John Carroll, as JCU eased to a 7-0 conquest to advance to 7-2 on the year.

The visitors swept doubles to get the day off on the right foot. Maddie Kavenagh and Evelyn Deren did well atop the lineup with a 6-3 conquest at #1 doubles. Felicity Kolb and Emma Smith showcased good teamwork with a 6-2 win. And finally, Zoe Nicholas and Madi Davila worked together for the first time this season, earning a clean 6-0 victory.

Kavenagh and Deren cruised atop the lineup at #1 and #2 singles with identical 6-0, 6-1 victories. Kolb's win took longer but was still relatively easy at 6-2, 6-1.

Davila and Smith both enjoyed smooth sailing with double bagel (6-0, 6-0) wins at #4 and #5. Caroline Chandler completed things for JCU at #6, rounding out the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win.
