A Total Of Four Blue Streak Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District® Honors From The 2024-2025 Seasons
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – A total of four Blue Streak cross country/track & field athletes were recognized this afternoon for their academic and athletic excellence from the 2024-2025 season.

These athletes include Abby Schroff, Annie Higgins, Emmy Bryan, and Ellie Kitsmiller who were selected to be named on the CSC Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country, selected by the College Sports Communicators.

The CSC Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their efforts in their sport and in the classroom. For cross country/track & field, the CSC recognizes these athletes in four separate divisions including NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, as well as the NAIA.

Abby Schroff had a big year for the Blue Streaks as she came away with a total of four All-OAC and three Great Lakes All-Region performances in the DMR, 3000 meter run, and 1500 meter run. At the 2025 OAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Abby was named the OAC Champion in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:56.97.

She was a part of the distance medley relay that broke the school record with a time of 12:00.38 and earned the second-best time in the region.

Schroff became an All-OAC performer in cross country as well finishing fifth overall for the Blue Streaks to capture their fifth consecutive OAC title.

Annie Higgins would also have a tremendous season for the Blue & Gold in her final year.

In her first appearance in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Higgins would secure a top 32 finish in the country with a time of 11:09.00 to become the 2025 OAC Champion. At the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier hosted by Augustana College, Higgins would get her time down to 11:01.67.

She would also earn Great Lakes All-Region honors in the event and finish as the fifth-best performer.

During cross country, Annie led the women's team to a fifth-place finish at the 2024 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships, earning her second-ever All-Region honor, finishing 18th overall.
Annie also contributed to the team winning the conference championship finishing third overall to earn All-OAC honors.

Emmy Bryan is another senior who finished strong in her last season for John Carroll.

She would walk away with two All-OAC performances in the high jump both indoor and outdoor. One becoming the OAC Champion with a mark of 1.63 meters, earning her first ever conference title of her career.

Bryan also secured All-Region honors in the high jump and became the fourth-best performer in the field.

Last, but not least Ellie Kitsmiller would earn herself a spot on the Academic All-District ballot for the third straight year.

At the 2024 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships, Kitsmiller finished 30th overall to earn her third All-Region honor for the Blue Streaks. She was the second Blue Streak runner to cross the finish line that day.

That wasn't all for Ellie as she was named the 2025 OAC Champion in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:17.93.

Kitsmiller was also a part of the distance medley relay that broke the school record with Schroff, which led to her earning Great Lakes All-Region honors in the event.

All four individuals earned a spot on the 2025 Spring Academic All-OAC list and have been well-represented on the conference and regional levels, both athletically and academically.

The Academic All-District® honorees will advance to the CSC All-America® ballot. The first, second, and third-team Academic All-American selections will be announced on Tuesday, July 15th.
