Charlie Tuggey and Colin Cronin combined for 7 total points across the weekend series, with both players finding themselves near the top of the scoring lists for ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey.

The Blue Streaks pick up a critical road win on Saturday to split the weekend series, with Colin Cronin putting up a 3-goal weekend.

HOLLAND, Mich. - JCU Club Hockey, ranked in the top 25 for the first time since 2025, is continuing their excellent run of form. The Blue Streaks split the weekend series at #15 ranked Hope College, falling 8-2 on Friday before rallying on Saturday to a 4-1 victory.

The #25 ranked Blue Streaks headed back on the road to play a ranked team for the third time this season, heading to Western Michigan to play the #15 Flying Dutchmen. Friday's game saw the Blue Streaks fall to the Flying Dutchmen 8-2, with junior forward Colin Cronin scoring both goals for the Blue Streaks on the powerplay. Cronin now has 5 powerplay goals on the season, leading all of ACHA Men's Division 1 in this category.
Saturday evening's contest saw the Blue Streaks soar to a two-goal lead midway through the second period. Forward Seamus Coyle would open the scoring in the first period with his first collegiate hockey goal, followed up by Colin Cronin once again off a feed from Charlie Tuggey. Hope responded on the man advantage shortly thereafter, but the Blue Streaks would not see their momentum drop. Junior forward Camden Martin blocked a clearing attempt from Hope's netminder, and tucked it home for his 5th goal of the season, giving the Blue Streaks a 3-1 lead. Charlie Tuggey scored the lone third period goal, leading to the 4-1 final score and giving the Blue Streaks their first road victory of the season.

Goalie Austin Muirhead played an excellent game on Saturday, recording 54 saves on 55 shots faced, good enough for a 0.982 save percentage and getting the win for John Carroll. Muirhead has recorded all 5 of the Blue Streaks wins so far this season, leading CHMA hockey in terms of wins for a goalie, and has been the standout goalie for John Carroll since taking over the starter's role.

Forward Colin Cronin had a 3-goal weekend for the Blue Streaks, recording 9 goals and 17 points on the season. This ranks him first in points across all CHMA teams, and 9th across all ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey. Charlie Tuggey also had a 4-point weekend, recording a goal and 3 assists across the weekend series. The graduate student has 16 points and 12 assists across the season, leaving him tied for 10th across all ACHA Men's Division 1 hockey in total points.

The Blue Streaks now look to conference play for the first time this season next weekend, taking on Duquesne away in Pittsburgh on Friday before coming back home to face Robert Morris on Saturday.
