The junior delivered an impressive season opener that helped the Streaks beat Heidelberg.

CLEVELAND – One meet, one weekly award for Cameron Cook.

Following his impressive season opener, the junior has roped in his first weekly accolade.

Cook is the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the week for men's swimming.

The Fredericksburg, Virginia native enjoyed a heck of an opening meet in a victory over Heidelberg, including on both of his relays. In the 400 Medley Relay, Cook served as the anchor, turning in a split of 45.85 as the team clocked in at 3:30.93 for first. In the 400 Free Relay, Cook turned in a time of 46.36 to help the quartet tally a time of 3:13.39, which would have been first but it was scored as an exhibition.

Cook did strong work in the 50 Backstroke. The veteran soared for a time of 23.88, a personal best and a victorious time.

The star then notched a great time in the 50 Free. Cook clocked a mark of 21.29, easily winning the sprint by over a second.

An All-American and a Scholar All-American a year ago, Cook is set to be a leader all season long for the Blue Streaks.
