Women's Basketball heads to the Sweet 16 for the first time in program history
Welcome back from spring break, Blue Streaks! With national titles on the line and historic moments for JCU on the horizon, there is plenty to keep up with this weekend:

Women's Basketball

For the first time in JCU history, the Women's Basketball team has reached the Round of 16 in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Beating out SUNY New Paltz at home, the #11 Blue Streaks are Virginia bound.

Set to face #8 Denison for the third time this season, the game will take place at 5:30 pm on Friday, March 13th.

Men's Wrestling

With their spots in the National Championship secured, seniors Thomas Lunt and Ty Daughtery are in Iowa to compete in the NCAA Division III Championship.

After five wins and a spectacular takedown to earn himself third-place in Regionals, Lunt takes his hard earned 25-11 season record up against Ithaca's Kamdyn Dorchester to open the 285-pound bracket.

Daughtery, after a season of determining which weight-class would best help him succeed and producing stellar results to bring a 17-11 record into the postseason, will open the 133-pound bracket against NYU's Jacob Venezia.

The Championship will take place across Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14 with both days starting at 10 am.

Track and Field

Seven Blue Streaks have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championship and will be representing JCU on the national stage.

All-American Dakota Houston will be returning for her second national appearance to compete in three events. Alongside her will be First-Team All-NCAC Alyssa Vis who is making her national debut.

Another debut comes for Sam Su, a season crowded with personal bests leading into a hopeful competition. Competing for the first time on the national stage indoors, Tony Tirado will be one of four competing in the Men's 4x400 relay. Joining him will be Dustin Horner and Tyler Gast, both on their third national appearance, and Basheer Alramahi, the senior who has seen this level four times before.

The competition will expand across Friday, March 13th, beginning at 10 am, and Saturday, March 14, beginning at 11 am.

Women's Lacrosse

John Carroll's Women's Lacrosse is on the road this weekend, heading up to Hope College in Holland, Michigan. With a previous win over Hope in the 2024 season, the Blue Streaks are looking to break a tough spell from the past few weeks and bring home a win.

The game will take place at 12 pm on Saturday, March 14.

Baseball

A doubleheader is in store for JCU Baseball as they travel to Alleghany College in Pennsylvania this weekend. After a 4-2 record in the RussMat Invitational last week, the team is seeking to keep success on their radar and add two more wins this weekend.

The first game will be played at 12 pm on Saturday, March 14, with the second game following immediately after at 3 pm.

Men's and Women's Tennis

Tennis takes on two NCAC opponents this weekend. The men and women face DePauw together on Saturday at 3 pm inside the Wembley Club in Chagrin Falls. Neither have seen success against the Tigers and are ready to shift the history books in their favor.

On Sunday at 11:30 am, the team face the same opponent Oberlin although in separate locations. The women head to the Yeowomen to compete. Having beaten them last season 4-3, the Blue Streaks go in with a determination to pick up another win.

Later that day at 2 pm, the men take on the Yeomen at the Short Family Tennis Center, hoping to enjoy a nice home opener if the weather allows. Should the weather turn, the teams will head indoors to Oberlin.
