Blue Streaks Open Up Their 2026 Outdoor Season At Carnegie Mellon
PITTSBURGH, PA – A small contingent of the men's and women's track & field teams competed this past Friday to begin the 2026 outdoor campaign.

Four distance runners represented JCU last night in the 5000 meter run events at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational hosted at Carnegie Mellon University. 

Full Results - Day 1

Sophomore Anne Rea began the night for the Blue Streaks, posting a time of 18:00.30 to place 14th overall out of 58 runners. 

Next, the trio of Joey Naiman, Nate Julien, and Charlie Payne all competed in the same heat for JCU. 

Naiman was the first runner to cross the finish line for the Blue Streaks, placing 22nd overall with a time of 15:09.21, followed by Julien running 15:22.44 to place 33rd. 

Payne placed 47th overall with a time of 15:39.73 to round up the three. 

This was an exceptional start for the Blue Streaks as they will now look to regroup as they head into the month of April.

Both the men and women will return to the track next Friday-Saturday, April 3rd-4th for the Wooster Invitational at the College of Wooster. Meet information to be posted next week.
