John Carroll Athletics Finishes in 28th in Final Learfield Directors' Cup Standings

The Blue Streaks ascended to the top 7% in the Division III ranks

CLEVELAND – An excellent athletic year has yielded a strong finish in the Learfield Directors' Cup.

John Carroll Athletics registered a 28th place finish in the final Division III standings. 

The Blue Streaks finished in the top 7% in Division III, which has a total of 429 schools. John Carroll finished second among North Coast Athletic Conference schools. 

In the spring, the Blue Streaks helped their case with 152.50 points to finish with a grand total of 585.25 (added to 260.25 points in winter and 172.50 points in fall). This marks JCU's sixth consecutive top-40 finish dating back to 2018-19 and third top-30 finish overall. 

The Blue & Gold tallied 39th in 2025, 37th in 2024, 28th in 2023, and 23rd in 2022. Prior to the pandemic, JCU tabbed 31st in 2018-19. This is the 12th time John Carroll has finished in the top 50. The Blue Streaks also finished T-40th in 1997-98, 36th in 2000-01, 33rd in 2001-02, 41st in 2003-04 and 48th in 2017-18.

John Carroll Men's Track & Field led the way for the Blue & Gold in the spring. With a 12th place result at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the Blue Streaks logged 64.5 points after winning the NCAC crown.

Men's Golf aided the cause with 56 points. The Blue Streaks made the cut and finished 18th place in the NCAA Tournament following an NCAC Championship.

Women's Track & Field snagged 32 points. The Blue Streaks took 37th place at the outdoor championships after conquering the NCAC with ease to complete the conference track & field sweep.

The Learfield Directors' Cup is a nationwide competition in which points are awarded based on each institution's finish in the NCAA Championships.  The Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships.
