Men’s Soccer Drops Second Game Of Turk Emekli Classic To Gettysburg College

WASHINGTON D.C. – The final game in the District of Columbia for the Blue Streaks ends in defeat.

After losing to Catholic University this past Friday, September 4th, JCU came in today looking to get back on track.

That wasn't the case this afternoon as the Blue & Gold would lose their second game in the Turk Emekli Classic at Carlini Field against Gettysburg College by a final score of 2-0.

The Blue Streaks faced another shut out loss to move to 1-2 on the year.

Early in the match, Gettysburg College opened up the scoring after a couple of opportunities would present themselves for the Bullets.

A couple of substitutions from Head Coach Dejan Mladenovic '06, '25G were made to help galvanize the group and get the offense rolling.

With only two shots recorded in the first half, it became difficult for the Blue Streaks to find any offense, but their chances grew throughout the second half.

To begin the second half after a foul from Noah Schmidt, Gettysburg found the back of the net to tally their second goal of the game.

From then on, JCU wasn't able to find a rhythm.

With only a couple of shots on goal, JCU was able to make adjustments, but it wasn't enough for the group to get a victory.

Looking at the individual stats, in his first start as a Blue Streak, sophomore goalkeeper Sean Gerba tallied three saves, while Dylan Halm led the team with two shots.
