Biography

Krainz received several honors for his performance during the 2008 season, including a Division III ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region Gold Glove for his outstanding efforts as a second baseman ... Also was named Second Team All-OAC ... Earned three letters in his first three seasons ... Finished the 2008 season with a .367 batting average which rounded off the top three on the team ... Was first on the team in on base percentage (.504) and in sacrafice bunts (4) ... Krainz finished the 2008 season with six doubles ... On the defensive end, he was second on the team in field percentage (.991) and third in fielding double plays (10) and assists (59) ... Appeared in 31 games in the 2008 season, scoring  18 runs ... In 2007, he hit .330 and scored 32 runs (second most on the team)... As a freshman, had his first career hit against OAC rival Baldwin Wallace (4/11/06)... Winner of Cheyfitz-Wright Rookie of the Year Award in 2006... Attended St. Ignatius (OH) High School .. Played baseball and football in high school... Named a second team All-Ohio baseball player... Works for Walton Hills service department .... English major with a minor in Education... Son of Mike and Verronica Krainz.
