Had a breakout 2009 campaing in which he played in 35 games, batted .319 and let the team with four triples ... Third among Blue Streaks with 13 multiple hit games last season ... Collected a career best five RBI against both John Jay and Wilmington ... Named second team All-OAC last year ... As a sophomore, saw increased playing time, appearing in 18 games and starting four ... Had a .333 batting average, including nine hits, seven runs and three RBI ... Also had a .481 slugging percentage ... Played in nine games as a freshman in 2007, making two starts in Florida ... His first career hit was also his first career RBI in a win over Hiram (3/17/07) ... Played on a two-time regional championship team at Chicago’s Loyola Academy … Majoring in Biology at JCU ... Carries a 3.22 GPA ... Postgraduate plans are to attend George Washington University to pursue a Master's Degree in the field of Medicine ...  Both parents Mary Carol & Bill O'Brien, are JCU alumni along with three of his uncles.
