Cuyahoga Gold Bowl: 2015

On this day, John Carroll would have the opportunity to take the lead in the Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Series for the first time in history, and they would not squander the it. On the first two drives of the game, both JCU and Baldwin Wallace were able to move the ball before turning it over on the plus side of the 50. A Mike Hollins interception inside the JCU 20 yard line would set up a 53 yard Arin Pruitt scamper that put the Blue Streaks into scoring range. Kicker Jake Vivonetto would split the uprights and JCU held a 3-0 lead. The ensuing drive, Yellow Jacket quarterback Tyler Moeglin would find the endzone after a 5 yard run to put BW in front 7-3. Right before halftime, senior quarterback Jake Schaefer would connect with Jordan D'Orazio for a four yard TD pass to put the Blue Streaks infront 10-7 at the break. The first drive of the second half saw the Blue Streaks march right down the field and cap off a 53 yard drive with an Arin Pruitt touchdown and JCU now held a 17-7 lead. After another Moeglin touchdown at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Blue Streak lead was cut to three. Baldwin Wallace would have possession in the final minutes but a turnover on downs would end their day. JCU took a 26-25-4 lead in the series and have not looked back since.
