John Carroll University Athletics

Welcome.  John Carroll is pleased to host your team at one of our wrestling events.

Below are important details you may need for the event. Please do not hesitate to email if you have any questions.


Athletic Traininers and Athletic Training Room
A certified athletic trainer will be present during competition at DeCarlo Varsity Center or AWE at all times.

Certified athletic trainers and the Athletic Training Center will be available 2 hours prior to the start of competition and up to 1 hour after the end of competition. 


Medical Examinations
Medical examinations and skin checks will take place 1.5-2 hours prior to competition. Please check the details on your specific event to confirm.  If an athletic trainer is traveling with your team, we ask that you please assist with skin checks.


Physicians
A team physician will be present all day. Athletes injured during the event will be permitted to be seen by the physician. If medical personnel are needed outside the hours of the event we suggest you refer your patients to the facilities below:

Equipment
Ice bags and drinking water will be provided for all participants.
A 10-gallon cooler filled with water and ice will be mat side.

You must supply your own tape, and other athletic training supplies.

Emergency supplies will be located in the gymnasium, including AED and Vacuum Splints.


Teams Traveling Without an Athletic Trainer
Please feel free to contact us at any time prior to your visit if you need special arrangements. If any of your teams will be traveling without an athletic trainer, we will only provide pre-event taping if you send your own taping supplies and a request to tape from a certified athletic trainer and/or team physician.
