John Carroll University Athletics

Jonathan Kovack enters his second season with the John Carroll Baseball Program. He serves as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

Over his career, he has coached players who have received the following awards and honors:

• 7 All-OAC selections
• 5 Academic All-OAC selections
• 1 First Team All-Midwest Region selections
• 1 Third Team All-American selections

In his first season with the John Carroll Baseball Program Kovack assisted with the Pitchers, Infielders and Outfielders, As well as prepared game day scouting reports, and coached 3rd Base while on offense.

Prior to John Carroll, Kovack served as an assistant pitching coach at Notre Dame College (NCAA DII), where he was a pitcher from 2013-17.  As a coach Kovack assisted with managing the pitching staff, as well as designing game day strategies. He also designed individual pitching regiments and implemented the DRIVELINE weighted ball program and a strength and conditioning program with the pitching staff. During his tenure, he coached both a first team and a second team all-conference selection.

At the high school level, Kovack serves as an academy/pitching instructor at The Force, where he also coaches the 16U Force Under Armour team. He was an academy instructor at Players I Baseball Academy from 2017-2019. He also had a four-year stint at Pro Tech Baseball Academy from 2013-17.

A 2017 graduate, Kovack earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sport Management and minors in Coaching and Physical Education.
