Perse begins his ninth year on the JCU staff and his fourth year on the defensive side of the ball.

After mentoring the linebackers in for a seasons, he will start his third year as the defensive tackles and long snappers coach in 2011. Has over 25 years of coaching experience , including five as JCU’s tight ends coach (2004-2008). Prior to his tenure at John Carroll, Perse coached at Beachwood High School for seven years as the defensive coordinator, linebackers, and defensive backs coach. He also coached at Shaker Heights High School, Western Reserve Academy, Flint High School, and Catholic University of America.

He attended the University of Virginia and received a Master of Arts in Government at Georgetown University in 1981.
