Corey Shontz

Former John Carroll University men’s basketball All-American Corey Shontz has joined the coaching staff for the 2014-15 season.
 
Shontz capped his Blue Streak career with NABC third team All-America honors, becoming John Carroll’s first player to earn honors by the NABC in 29 years. Additionally, Shontz was the first Blue Streak men’s basketball player to earn the OAC’s most outstanding player award and was the inaugural recipient of the Dick Reynolds Award.
 
The guard ranks amongst the program’s best in 3-pointers made (first, 185), steals (205, second) and assists (third, 438), scoring (sixth, 1,423).
 
Shontz helped the Blue Streaks make the NCAA Tournament as a sophomore guiding John Carroll to the second round. He was a part of the 2010 OAC Tournament and regular-season champion squad helping the Blue Streaks to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
 
Shontz graduated with a degree exercise science in 2012.
