Christin Handley

Christin Handley begins her second year as a graduate assistant for the JCU cross country and track teams.

Handley was part of the staff who was named the OAC Women's Cross Country Coaching Staff of the Year in 2013 after the Blue Streaks won their first OAC title since 1991.

A 2012 graduate of the University of Mount Union with a double major in Health and Physical Education, Handley was a four-time letter winner who held the title of "team captain" in soccer, cross country and indoor/outdoor track for the Purple Raiders.

A tremendous college athlete, she was an All-OAC and All-Region cross country runner in 2010, placing 30th at the Great Lakes Regional Championships (22:48).  She was a four-time letter winner in indoor and outdoor track, breaking the school record in the One Mile Run (indoor, 5:08) and earning All-OAC Indoor honors six times. She was also a two-time All-Ohio recipient in the Mile.  Outdoors, Handley earned four letters and five All-OAC honors in four years. She broke the school record on her way to winning the OAC individual championship in the 1,500 Meter Run (4:46).  She was a member of three OAC Outdoor team championships.

In addition to running, Handley played in 69 games (starting 63) for the soccer team as a midfielder, earning Rookie of the Year and Team Player Award honors during her career.

A 2011 Mount Union Female Athlete of the Year nominee, she was voted Female Comeback Athlete of the Year after returning from a serious soccer injury.
